3 things to remember when using facial scrubs

Posted by Pure Cosmetica on 5th Sep 2022

Regular exfoliation helps keep your skin silky, soft and smooth, but there are a few things to remember when exfoliating.

Your skin naturally sheds its skin cells every 27 days. If dead cells aren't removed during this process, it can result in dull, dry and flaky skin.

Regular exfoliation using a facial scrub helps to keep your skin silky, soft and smooth by gently buffing away and removing those old dead skin cells.

1. Always cleanse first

It is important to know that exfoliating should not replace the cleansing stage of your routine. Exfoliants do not achieve the same result without cleansing first. Ensure you wash your face with our CLEANSE Face Cleansing Oil to start with a fresh base prior to exfoliating.

2. Exfoliate once a week

Exfoliating only needs to be done once or twice a week. Try slipping it into your weekly routine on a certain day of the week to help you remember.

3. Apply on damp/wet skin

It is so important you only exfoliate on damp or wet skin. Exfoliating onto a dry face will aggravate your skin. After cleansing your face, skip patting it dry and move straight to the exfoliating stage.

How to exfoliate using our SOOTHE Face Exfoliant

  1. A little goes a long way with our SOOTHE Facial Exfoliant. A full scoop of the spatula provided should cover your face and neck, however, adjust to your preferences.

  2. Once you have spooned the product onto your fingertips, gently rub together to evenly spread the product to your hands.

  3. Gently pat the product onto your face and begin to work the product gently into the skin in a gentle circular motion.

Your skin will feel soft and supple after you have exfoliated, which is also when your skin will be most permeable.

This is the perfect opportunity to hydrate and nourish the skin with one of our Face Oil Serums, which will absorb seamlessly into your pores.

Every skin is unique. Your skin care needs will depend on a range of personal factors. It’s advisable to have your skin checked by a professional every 3 months.
